Key Actions at the June 2, 2014 Steering Committee Meeting

At the June 2, 2014 meeting, the WHI Steering Committee:

  1. Discussed the future direction of the WHI as it relates to the current and future work of the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System, the Washtenaw County Public Health Department, and the Blueprint for Michigan State Innovation Model (SIM). The conversation will continue at the July WHI Steering Committee meeting and will include discussion of the current and future work of the Coordinated Funders.
  2. Approved the agenda and materials for the June 4, 2014 Planning Group meeting.
  3. Reviewed the final report and recommendations from the Reduced Fee Dental Initiative, presented by Ruth Kraut.
  4. Heard a project update about the Blue Cross Complete Project, which has changed focus. The original focus was on using community health advocates to get newly enrolled Medicaid patients into care within 90 days of enrollment and to connect them to necessary social services. The new project focus is on using community health advocates to schedule appointments with patients who have yet to establish care, or who have gaps in care. Ruth will present this update at the June 4, 2014 Planning Group meeting.
