Dozens of detailed directories have emerged over the last several weeks as Washtenaw County leaders work tirelessly to respond to the threat of COVID-19 and to help residents navigate the health, social, and economic impacts of the pandemic.
Below, we’ve listed just a few of the directories that have come to our attention. Some have been assembled by WHI member organizations; others by community partners. Eastern Michigan University: An extensive list of information and support resources in Wayne and Washtenaw Counties including education, financial assistance, food, health, housing, internet, recovery support, and more.
Hospitals and Health Systems: Between the Michigan Medicine Coronavirus resource page and the St. Joseph Mercy Health System Coronavirus resource page, you’ll find details about symptoms, individuals at risk, how the virus spreads, how it’s treated, how to prevent transmission, what to do if you think you’re sick, how to support the coronavirus response, and more.
Poverty Solutions at the University of Michigan: Detailed descriptions of state and federal COVID-19 resources including unemployment and worker assistance, food assistance, utility and housing assistance, child care assistance, ways to give back, and more.
Senior Services: Both the Area Agency on Aging 1-B and Ahead of the Curve have produced resource lists that will be of particular interest to Washtenaw County seniors including helplines, grocery delivery, and stores with dedicated shopping hours for seniors.
United Way of Washtenaw County: A series of resources including a 24/7 211 helpline, a new COVID-19 Relief Fund for frontline service organizations, financial coaching and advice for those who are struggling with the economic impact of COVID-19, and ways to give or volunteer.
Washtenaw County Community Mental Health: A 24/7 CARES line at 734-544-3050 for the community–if you or someone you know needs assistance, please call–and essential services including crisis response, psychiatric services, and more.
Washtenaw County Health Department: COVID-19 case data, contact information for those who have questions, guidance for critical infrastructure businesses, information for health care providers, multilingual materials, prevention advice, stay at home guidance, instructions for what to do if you’re sick, and ways to give and volunteer.
Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development: A detailed list of essential services and resources. This is a terrific source of information for those who need to access food, apply for health insurance, visit local medical clinics, request unemployment benefits, get help with utility bills, and more.
Washtenaw Health Plan: An organization dedicated to ensuring that Washtenaw County residents have health care coverage. Individuals in need of health insurance can contact Washtenaw Health Plan to receive assistance applying for Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace and other forms of coverage.
