Medicaid Expansion Bill Heads to Governor Snyder
The Michigan House voted (75-32) today to concur with the changes the Senate made to HB4714 to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. The Senate sent the bill to the House without immediate effect. Thus, the legislation is on its way to Governor Snyder’s desk without immediate effect, which means that the expansion of Medicaid won’t take effect until 90 days after sine die, i.e., 90 days from the end of the current legislative session. Estimates are that the legislation would take effect late March/early April. We will keep you posted as more details unfold.
