The WHI Communications Committee is committed to fostering the well-being of our community. We partner with local organizations on projects designed to improve the health of low-income, uninsured, and under-insured populations to:
- Build awareness about free and low-cost services and the organizations that offer them
- Market evidence-based services to low-income, uninsured, and under-insured populations
- Develop educational materials to improve care quality and access
Our recent projects include developing and disseminating:
- A one-pager about providing trauma-informed care to individuals who have experienced community violence (Community Violence Intervention Team, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office)
- A journalistic article describing the work of WeLIVE, an outreach team that provides services to victims of violence (Community Violence Intervention Team, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office)
- A postcard that makes it easy for parents to take advantage of up to $500 in free college or career savings for their 1st – 6th graders (My Future Fund Washtenaw, Washtenaw Intermediate School District, Washtenaw County Government)
- A list of 12 recommendations for policymakers working to mitigate unnecessary insurance losses during the post-pandemic Medicaid renewal process (Washtenaw Health Project)
The WHI communications committee is open to interested individuals from local organizations that wish to better serve Washtenaw County’s low-income, uninsured, and underinsured populations.
We invite you to partner with us so we can build a healthier and more connected future for everyone in Washtenaw County.
