Key Actions at the April 7, 2014, WHI Steering Committee Meeting

At the April 7, 2014 meeting, the WHI Steering Committee:

  1. Heard updates from the Tailored Mental Health Management Support (TaMMS) and Frequent Users Systems Engagement (FUSE) projects. The Steering Committee agreed that the Washtenaw FUSE project should be integrated into the WHI Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Work Group.
    • TaMMS has successfully obtained UM IRB approval, and additional funding through grant applications to reduce health system contributions. The project is being implemented at Packard Health Clinic and clinical programming is expected to begin there soon.
    • To date, Washtenaw FUSE has housed 55 people and is beginning to receive preliminary demographic and health status data from their evaluation partners at NYU.
  2. Discussed the February 18th Planning Group meeting. Due to time constraints and the need for more robust discussion, this discussion will continue at the May 5th meeting of the Steering Committee.

Note: the March 12, 2014 Steering Committee was canceled due to weather.
