AAACF will support development and dissemination of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation report.

Transportation service

We are delighted to announce that CHRT has been awarded a grant from the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation to develop and disseminate a report on Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT). The funding will support a comprehensive review of relevant policies and practices of NEMT. This project evolved from the work the WHI Healthy Aging Collaborative engaged in on transportation needs for older adults.

Key activities of the project include a review of evidence in the literature on the use of NEMT, interviews with local health systems andtransportation providers on the need and the gaps, and a profile of successful programs in other communities. The brief is expected to be published in the spring of 2024, with a dissemination plan that includes user stakeholders and policy decision makers.

Thank you to the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation for their support, enabling us to contribute valuable insights to the improvement of Non-Emergency Medical Transportation services for older adults.
