Stakeholders

Washtenaw Health Initiative stakeholders are local individuals, community-based organizations, and government agencies that are invested in the mission and goals of the Washtenaw Health Initiative, that are willing to sign the initiative’s Statement of Commitment Charter, and that are willing to contribute to the Washtenaw Health Initiative mission-based activities.

Stakeholders within this group provide feedback on the Washtenaw Health Initiative’s strategic direction, help to identify focus areas that are critical to the initiative’s mission, and participate in projects within these focus areas that are designed to improve the health and wellbeing of low-income, uninsured, and under-insured populations across Washtenaw County.

Current focus areas include:

Within these focus areas, stakeholders meet quarterly, bi-monthly, or monthly to identify community health needs, to design collaborative projects that will address those health needs, and to monitor and improve upon those projects. They are led by chairs who are appointed by the Steering Committee for their subject matter expertise.

Washtenaw County residents and employees who are interested in improving the health of low-income, uninsured, and under-insured populations are welcome to join the stakeholders group by signing the WHI’s Statement of Commitment. Stakeholders may include individuals with expertise in health care, health policy, human services, and other professional fields, as well as community members with lived experience in the focus areas who can provide vitally important perspectives on the focus area projects.
